Love Joins South Atlantic Bank

Myrtle Beach, SC (June 30, 2008) – South Atlantic Bank has announced the newest addition to their growing staff. Michelle Love joins the bank as Vice President of Retail Business Development for the North Strand area. Most recently, Love completed five and a half years as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at Carolina First. “Michelle joins us with six years of retail banking experience in the Myrtle Beach area and is a native of Loris, South Carolina,” states President, Scott Plyler. 

Love is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is also a graduate of the South Carolina Banker’s School and serves as Treasurer for the Myrtle Beach Civitan Club.

Klein Joins South Atlantic Bank as Director of Marketing and Advertising

Myrtle Beach, SC (June 18, 2008) – South Atlantic Bank has announced a new addition to their growing staff. Joy Klein joins the bank as Director of Marketing and Advertising. Most recently, Klein was Creative Director/Creative Services Manager at Coastal Federal Bank/BB&T for seven years where she developed marketing and advertising for all of the coastal North and South Carolina branches, as well as Coastal Investment Services. 

Klein will be the driving force behind all marketing and advertising for South Atlantic Bank. “Joy joins us with 15+ years of marketing and advertising experience and has been in the area since 1984,” states President, Scott Plyler. Klein is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Leadership Grand Strand Class XXIII. She is also a founding board member of the Horry Arts and Cultural Enhancement and a past board member for Coastal Advertising and Marketing Professionals.

Fran Kopnicky to Head Up Murrells Inlet Branch of South Atlantic Bank

Myrtle Beach, SC (June 3, 2008) – South Atlantic Bank has hired Fran Kopnicky to head up their second and newest branch in Murrells Inlet. Kopnicky will join the bank as Vice President/Murrells Inlet Branch Manager. Kopnicky will manage the bank’s newest branch, located on the corner of Highway 17 Bypass and TPC Boulevard. 

“Fran joins us with 38 years of banking experience and has been in the Garden City/Murrells Inlet market since 1986. Fran has extensive experience in retail lending and branch management”, states South Atlantic Bank President, Scott Plyler. Kopnicky is on the board of directors of the United Way of Horry County and is the past president and current member of the Pawley’s Island Rotary Club.

Paul Peeples Joins South Atlantic Bank

Myrtle Beach, SC (June 3, 2008) – South Atlantic Bank has announced a new addition to their growing staff. Paul Peeples will join the bank as Senior Vice President/North Strand Regional Manager. Peeples will cover the North Myrtle Beach market for South Atlantic Bank. Most recently, Peeples was Senior Vice President/North Myrtle Beach Executive for Carolina First. “Paul joins us with 15+ years of commercial banking experience and has been in the market since 1997”, states South Atlantic Bank President, Scott Plyler.
 
Peeples is a graduate of the Citadel, the South Carolina Banker’s School and the LSU Graduate School of Banking. 

South Atlantic Bank Announces Second Branch Location

Myrtle Beach, SC (May 14, 2008) – South Atlantic Bank has announced it’s newest and second branch set to operate out of Murrells Inlet, SC. South Atlantic Bank received approval for its newest location from the FDIC and the South Carolina Board of Financial Institutions on May 13, 2008.  “We are very excited about our expansion plans into the Murrells Inlet area, which is needed to serve our growing customer base and many of our investors,” states President, Scott Plyler. “Our management team has many years of banking experience and customer relationships in this area, which will be further developed with the opening of this new branch.”
 
While a new branch office is being built, a full-service modular branch will be on site by September 2008. The new building is planned to be a 10,000 square foot, two-story facility with the bank occupying the first floor and leasing space for a tenant on the second floor.  ESD Architecture and Design out of Charlotte, NC is said to be the architect and interior designer for the new bank location.
 
The Murrells Inlet branch will offer full banking services including retail, commercial and mortgage lending, night depository services, and ATM.
